RESOLUTION 76-61
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD
SUPPORTING THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA RAPID TRANSIT DISTRICT
IN ITS STAND IN THE PRESENT STRIKE LED BY THE UNITED
TRANSPORTATION UNION.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the demand by the United Transportation Union to increase the wages
and fringe benefits for bus drivers and mechanics for Southern California Rapid
Transit District is excessive; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemead believes that if these wage
increases were approved, the already burdened taxpayers would ultimately pay for
the proposed salary increases; and
WHEREAS, the taxpayers are now providing two out of three of the dollars
required to pay labor costs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE-IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Rosemead
affirms Its position of support for the Southern California Rapid Transit District
Hold-The-Line Posture in the present strike situation.
