A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD AUTHORIZING
AN ADVISORY ELECTION ON THE ISSUE OF
WHETHER OR NOT TO CONTINUE STUDY OF
A CHARTER FOR THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD RESOLVES THAT:
WHEREAS, the City Council has undertaken study of the
possibility of drafting a charter for the City of, * Rosemead, and
WHEREAS, the issue of whether or not to consider a
charter is one.ab'out which there are strongly held opinions on
both sides, and
WHEREAS, continued study.of the issue would require
considerable allocation of time and money by both,the City
Council and the City staff, and 4
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemead desires
to obtain an expression of public opinion whether or not further
study of a city charter should be undertaken,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Rosemead
authorizes time expenditure of funds necessary for an advisory
election on the issue of whether or not to further pursue con-
sideration of•a city charter; and
Section 2.- The City Council authorizes the following
ballot proposition to be placed before the voters.as an advisory
proposition:
"Shall the City Council of.the City of
Rosemead study and investigate the possibility
of preparing a city charter to be 'submitted to
the voters for their approval or disapproval?"

Section 3. Such issue shall be placed before the voters
as an advisory proposition and placed before the voters at a special
election to be set on March 8, 1977'
