A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ROSEMEAD AMENDING THE LAND USE
ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN FOR THE AREA
BOUNDED BY VALLEY BOULEVARD ON THE NORTH,
GUESS STREET ON THE SOUTH, ROSEMEAD BOULE-
VARD ON THE WEST, AND TEMPLE CITY BOULEVARD
AND ELLIS LANE ON THE EAST
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds and determines
that a public hearing was duly conducted on May 10, 1977, in the
Council Chambers of the Rosemead City Hall, 8838 Valley Boulevard,
Rosemead, California and that notice of the time, date, place and
purpose of the aforesaid hearing was given according to Law.
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds that the General
Plan calls for the total area as outlined in the attached map to
be commercial. Because of development of single-family homes
along a portion of the north and south sides of Steele Street, it
is reasonable to,amend-the Land Use Element to fit present land
use and zoning.
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds that amending the
Land Use Element of the General Plan by deletion of certain
commercial designations will not have a significant adverse effect
on the environment.
WHEREAS, the City Council further finds that a Negative
Declaration was prepared in compliance with the California
Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the Guidelines for the Imple-
mentation of CEQA, and Rosemead Resolution 75-28.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
hereby adopt the aforementioned amendment to the General Plan, and
the secretary shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 28 'clay of June
]977, by the following vote:
