RESOLUTION NO. 77-53
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ROSEMEAD DESIGNATING ENCINITA AVENUE FROM MISSION
DRIVE TO THE NORTHERLY CITY BOUNDARY AS A FEDERAL-
AID URBAN ROUTE
WHEREAS, Title 23 U. S. Code Section 103(d) 2states that;
after June 30, 1976, the Federal-Aid Urban System shall be lo-
cated in each urbanized area and such.. other urban areas as the
State highway departments may designate and shall consist of
arterial routes and collector routes, exclusive of urban exten-
sions of the Federal-Aid primary system. The routes on the
Federal-Aid Urban System shall be designated by appropriate local
officials, with the concurrance of the State Highway Departments,
subject to the approval of the'Secretary and in the case of urban-
ized areas shall also be in accordance with the planning process
required.pursuant to the provisions of Section 134 of this Title;
and
WHEREAS, the 1973 Federal-Aid Highway Action Section 148D
states that Federal-Aid Systems realignment shall be based upon
anticipated functional usage in the year 1980 or a planned con-
nected system; and
WHEREAS, Encinita Avenue is included in the 1980 Functional
Usage Study which serves as the basis for determining eligibility
for Federal-Aid Systems has".served as :the'.ba"si.sefor-;requesting-
streets..to be,.on the'.Federal-Aid Urban System;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Rosemead that this Council hereby requests approval of
this addition to the Federal-Aid Urban System as forwarded by
the City to the California Department of Transportation.
