RESOLUTION NO. 78 -68
A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ROSEMEAD TO RECOGNIZE THE LOS
.ANGELES REGIONAL CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING
BOARD AS THE COUNTY REGIONAL CRIMINAL
JUSTICE. PLANNING AND COORDINATING.BODY
FOR THE USE OF STATE AND FEDERAL ACTION
FUNDS.-
WHEREAS, the President's Crime Commission of 1967
recognized the urgent need for comprehensive criminal justice
planning in the United States; and;
WHEREAS, The Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets
Act of 1968 providedc+a natioriAl strategy to address the documented
problems in the.administration of justiceā and the Crime Control
Act of 1976 was enacted by Congress to continue the efforts of
this Act, and;
WHEREAS, the Governor, pursuant to provisions of the
Deukmejian - Moretti Act established the California Council on
Criminal Justice as the state criminal justice planning agency
to further the comprehensiveness of criminal justice planning
in this state; and has.signed into law'Assembly.Bill 1306 on
October 2, 1973, in furtherance of these national and state
crime control goals, and;
WHEREAS, the City of Rosemead recognized the need, for
efficient use of criminal justice resources and the concurrent
necessity of coordinating state and federal action funds and;
WHEREAS; the California Council on Criminal Justice has

established Los Angeles County as a separate region, effective
January 1, 1971, and the California legislature has recognized
each county as a planning district by passage of Assembly Bill
1306, effective October 2, 1973.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council
of Rosemead recognizes the Los Angeles Regional Criminal
Justice Planning Board as the Los Angeles County regional
criminal justice planning and coordination body for the use
of state and federal action funds.
