RE: SACRAMENTO LEGISLATIVE ORIENTATION TOUR
Mark Your Calendars!
January 9-11, 2006
The Sacramento Legislative Orientation Tour is in it's 39'h year. The Sheraton Grand
Hotel, will once again serve as our conference headquarters. A seminar packet
including registration form, hotel reservation and a tentative program will be included
in our next mailing to you. We urge all members of the Association to attend. We are
counting on your support. Remember there is strength in numbers if we want our
concerns to be considered.
The history of this tour has proven to be effective in not only developing relationships
with our legislators but it also provides us with the opportunity for face to face contact
and a vehicle for open discussion on pertinent issues.
This may be the most critical year for the Contract Cities and local government in
general. The November 8`I' elections will address several Propositions that will impact
local government. Their passage or failure will make our trip to Sacramento all the
more important.
The program of events will include sessions with State Senate, Assemblymembers,
Leadership, a reception and luncheon at the Sheraton Grand Hotel with Senate,
Assembly Local Government Chairpersons, international panels on critical local
issues and a reception.lbuffet for the Constitutional Officers and Legislators on
Tuesday evening to be held in the Capitol Rotunda.
