CC - 1983-26 - Denying Conditional Use Permit for Sale of Beer and Wine• RESOLUTION NO. 83-26 • A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DENYING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR THE SALE OF BEER AND WINE AT 8625 GARVEY AVENUE (CASE NO. 83-259) THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Council of the City of Rosemead finds, determines and declares as follows: a. That an application for a conditional use permit for the sale of beer and wine in conjunction with a market at 8625 Garvey Avenue was duly filed with the Planning Department; and b. That, after a public hearing, the Planning Commission denied the said application; and c. That an appeal was duly filed and set for hearing before the City Council. Section 2. After public hearing, the City Council hereby upholds the decision of the Planning Commission and denies the application for the following reasons: a. The request is not desirable or necessary for the public convenience, as there already exists several establishments within the immediate vicinity providing the sale of alcoholic beverages. b. The character of the immediate area and the current property improvements do not lend themselves to the sale of alcoholic beverages at this location. C. It has not been established that the project would not be detrimental to the surrounding area. Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adop- tion of this Resolution and shall cause a copy thereof to be transmitted to the applicant. APPROVED and ADOPTED this 12thday of July, 1983.
