A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ROSEMEAD, CALIFORNIA CONSENTING TO A REQUEST OF
THE EL MONTE UNION HIGH SCHOOL BOARD OF TRUSTEES
TO CONSOLIDATE A SPECIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT ELECTION
WITH THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO
BE HELD ON APRIL 10, 1984, PURSUANT TO SECTION
23300 OF THE ELECTIONS CODE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemead has called
a municipal election in the City of Rosemead to be held on April
10, 1984, for the election of certain city officers pursuant to
the provisions of the laws of the State of California relating to
General Law Cities; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the E1 Monte Union High
School District has requested the City Council of the City of Rose-
mead to consent to the consolidation of a Special District election
pursuant to the provisions of Section 23300 of the California State
Elections Code, with the Municipal Election for the purpose of elect-
ing a member of the El Monte Union High School District Board of
Trustees to fill a vacancy on the Board because of the resignation
of a member of the Board; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable that said Special District Election
be consolidated with the municipal election to be held on the same
date and that within the City of Rosemead the precincts, polling
places and election officers of the two elections be the same, and
that the City Clerk of the City of Rosemead canvass the returns of
the municipal election and that said special school board election
and municipal election be held in all respects as if there were
only one election.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD,
CALIFORNIA DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That pursuant to the requirements of Section 23300
of the Elections Code, the City Council of the City of Rosemead does
hereby consent and agree to the consolidation of special school board
election with the municipal election, the 10th day of April, 1984,
for the purpose of electing a member of the El Monte Union High School
District Board of Trustees.
SECTION 2. Said election shall be held in all respects as if
there were only one election, and only one form of ballot shall be
used.
SECTION 3. The E1 Monte Union High School District Board of
Trustees recognizes that additional costs will be incurred by the
City by reason of this consolidation and has advised the City of
Rosemead that it agrees to reimburse the City for such costs.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk of the City of Rosemead is hereby
directed to file a certified copy of this resolution with the
Registrar of Voters of the County of Los Angeles.
