A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD
AMENDING THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN FOR
THAT AREA LOCATED AT 8514-16-18 VALLEY BOULEVARD AND
3899 WALNUT GROVE AVENUE, ROSEMEAD, CALIFORNIA.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds and determines
that an application was duly filed by Harry Higley to request a
General Plan Amendment, from low-density residential to high-
density residential, for property located at 8514-16-18 Valley
Boulevard and 3899 Walnut Grove Avenue, Rosemead, California; or
more specifically known as:
Portion of Lot 2 of Tract 3315, Book 36, Page 22, and
as expressed in Exhibit "A" (attached);
and that a public hearing was duly scheduled for December 23, 1980,
at 8:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers of Rosemead City Hall, 8838
Valley Boulevard, Rosemead, California; and that notice of the
time, date, place and purpose of the aforesaid hearing was duly
given according to law; and that a public hearing was duly conducted
at the aforementioned time and place.
WHEREAS, the City Council further finds that the General
Plan calls for this area to be low-density residential; however,
the development of single-family residential is unfeasible due to
the character of the land. Therefore, it appears reasonable to
recommend that the Land Use Element of the General Plan be amended
to high-density residential.
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds that amending the
Land Use Element of the General Plan from low-density residential
to high-density residential as outlined above will not have a
significant adverse effect on the environment.
WHEREAS, the City Council further finds that a Negative
Declaration was prepared in compliance with the California En-
vironmental Quality Act (CEQA), the Guidelines for the implementation
of CEQA, and Rosemead Resolution 75-28.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby
adopted the aforementioned amendments to the General Plan and the
City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
Section 1. That certain property located in the City
of Rosemead and more particularly described on Exhibit "A"
attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference
is hereby designated as high-density residential with the
General Plan.
Section 2. The General Plan of the City of Rosemead
is hereby amended by adding the additional General Plan
designation described in Section 1 hereof, and said map
shall have noted thereon, "Amended on March 10, , 1981.'
Section 3. The City Clerk is directed to enter the date
of adoption of this Resolution in the appropriate space of
Section 2 hereinabove.
Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution and shall transmit a copy of said Resolution
to the Planning Department to allow for changing of the
official map as described in Section 2.
