RESOLUTION NO. 81-7

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ROSEMEAD, PERTAINING TO THE JOINT
POWERS AUTHORITY OF THE WEST SAN GABRIEL
VALLEY JUVENILE DIVERSION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the California Council on Criminal Justice desires
to undertake a certain project designated the West San Gabriel
Valley Juvenile Diversion Project to be funded in part from
funds made available through the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency
Prevention Act of 1974, PL93-415, (hereafter referred to as the
Juvenile Justice Act) administered by the California Council on
Criminal Justice.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City of Rosemead
recognizes that, in the event of default by the Authority or
financial liabilities which it is unable to satisfy through its
bond or other means, the member Cities will proportionately share
the Authority's contractual responsibility to this grant. Be it
further resolved that the Board of Directors of the Joint Powers
Authority will determine annually this proportionate share of
responsibility of each member and record share in the Minutes of
the Board meeting.
LASTLY, be it resolved that the Board of Directors of the
West San Gabriel Valley Juvenile Diversion Project Joint Powers
Authority will serve as the contracting and dispersing agent
pursuant to the authority granted by the Joint Exercise of Powers
Agreement between the Cities of Alhambra, Arcadia, Monrovia,
Monterey Park, Rosemead and San Gabriel, as per Agreement dated
June 13, 1974, and amended November 17, 1976.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED THIS 10th day of February, 1981.
