RESOLUTION NO. 80-9
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DECLARING
ITS INTENTION TO ABANDON A PORTION
OF ROSEMEAD PARK FOR STREET WIDENING
PURPOSES AND FIXING A TIME AND A
PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING THEREON
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF.ROSEMEAD'RESOLVES AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council finds, determines and
declares as follows:
(a) Encinita Avenue, from Mission Drive to
Lower Azuza has been the site of a number of
traffic accidents; and
(b) The present width of the street does
not allow for the safe movement of traffic
as well as parking on both sides of the
street; and
(c) The City Council has reviewed a number of
proposed alternatives to widening the street
and found that widening the street would be in
the best interests of the City of Rosemead.
SECTION 2. The City Council intends to abandon a
portion o~ Rosemead Park consisting of approximately
8,555 square feet as shown on the diagram attached hereto
as Exhibit A. The area will be used to widen Encinita
Avenue.
SECTION 3. A public hearing will beheld on March
25, 100 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the City
Council of the City of Rosemead located at 8838 E. Valley
Boulevard, Rosemead, California, to hear protests, if any,
to the proposed abandonment of a portion of Rosemead Park.
SECTION 4. Notice of this hearing shall be posted
and published pursuant to Government Code Section 38504.
