CC - 1980-74 - State Attorney to challange the Legality or Prop ARESOLUTION NO. 80-74 A RESOLUTION OF.THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE'CITY OF ROSEMEAD URGING THE CALIFORNIA STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL TO CHALLENGE THE LEGALITY OF PROPOSITION "A" SALES TAX INCREASE. WHEREAS,'the'.voters of,the State of California overwhelm- ingly approved the'Tax Limitation Initiative which appeared on the 1978 Ballot as.Proposition 13; and. WHEREAS, the said Proposition 13 requires that all tax in- creases be approved by a two-thirds' vote of the electors; and WHEREAS, Proposition "A" on the Los Angeles County 1980 General Election Ballot purportedly passed by less than a two- thirds' vote. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY 'COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: 1.
