MARCH 28, 1994 -
The Regular Meeting of the Rosemead City Council was called to
order by Mayor Bruesch at 8:03 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City
Hall, 8838 E. Valley Boulevard, Rosemead, California.
The Pledge to the Flag was led by Mayor Pro Tem Vasquez.
The Invocation was delivered by City Treasurer Foutz.

I. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE
A. Pauline Flanders and Brian Ten of the Asian Youth Center, 9032
Mission Drive, Rosemead, asked the City's assistance in applying for
grant funds from Los Angeles County for the building of a new
facility. This request was referred to City Treasurer Foutz regarding
the Mormon Church property that might be for sale.
B. Michael Pasillas, representing Congressman Matthew Martinez,
reported on recent changes in the District Office.

WASTE DISPOSAL - ADOPT
The following ordinance was presented to the Council for adoption:
ORDINANCE NO. 741
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD'
AMENDING THE REGULATIONS REGARDING SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL
Juan Nunez, 2702 Del Mar Avenue, was opposed to this ordinance,
stating that it takes away the rights of the residents to seek the
best price for rubbish disposal.

Mayor Bruesch requested information from the City Attorney
regarding de-annexation procedures and no action was required on this
item.

C. APPOINTMENT OF COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE TO THE SAN GABRIEL
VALLEY COIINCIL OF GOVERNMENTS
Mayor Pro Tem Vasquez stated that he would have to withdraw as the
delegate to the recently formed San Gabriel Valley Council of
Governments (COG) and nominated Mayor Bruesch to serve in his stead.
MOTION BY MAYOR PRO TEM VASQUEZ, SECOND BY COUNCILMEMBER CLARK
that Mayor Bruesch be selected as delegate the COG. Vote resulted:

D. FRANK G. TRIPEPI, CITY MANAGER
1. Noted that the request from the American Little League
for funding will be on the agenda for April 26, 1994, at the request
of the League president.
E. COUNCILMEMBER TAYLOR
1. Reported that the Rosemead Youth Association has asked
that the City plant six additional trees in Rosemead Park.
F. MAYOR BRUESCH
1. Invited everyone to attend Rosemead Youth Service
Recognition Day on April 19, 1994, at the Rosemead Community
Recreation Center, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
VIII. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE - None
Councilmember Clark asked that the meeting be adjourned in memory
of former City Engineer, John Maulding.
There being no further action to be taken at this time, the
meeting was adjourned at 8:50 p.m. The ne regular meeting,
scheduled for April 12, 1994, will be c ce ed because of the
election.
