ROSEMEAD CITY COUNCIL
JANUARY 8, 1992
The Special Meeting of the Rosemead City Council was called to
order by Mayor Imperial at 5:45 p.m. in the meeting room of the
Rosemead Community Center, 3936 N. Muscatel Avenue, Rosemead,
California.
The Pledge to the Flag was led by Mayor Imperial.
ROLL CALL OF OFFICERS:
Present: Councilmen Bruesch, Mayor Pro Tem Clark, and Mayor
Imperial
Absent: Councilman McDonald - Excused
Councilman Taylor - Excused
1. DISCUSSION WITH LOCAL RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES REGARDING CRIME
AND RESOURCES AVAILABLE TO RESIDENTS AND THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY
Mayor Imperial explained that this meeting would be conducted in
a town hall meeting format and invited comments from those in
attendance.
Concerns expressed by those present included increased graffiti
and gang activity; drainage laws; commercial rehabilitation
problems; drugs; loss of the contract for Green Line cars to
Sumitomo Corporation; and objection to a site for the proposed
County hospital on Walnut Grove Avenue.
It was requested that resolutions be on the next agenda
objecting to the Sumitomo contract and opposing the Rosemead site
for a County hospital.
There being no further action to be taken at this time, the
meeting was adjourned at 7:25 p.m. The next regular meeting,
scheduled for January 14, 1992, will be cancelled due to lack of a
quorum.
