CC - Item 6C - Authorization to Attend National League Conference March 13-17 2010- Washington, DCROSEMEAD CITY COUNCIL STAFF REPORT TO: THE HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL FROM: JEFF ALLRED, CITY MANAGE DATE: FEBRUARY 23, 2010 SUBJECT: AUTHORIZATION TO ATTEND NATIONAL LEAGUE OF CITIES 2010 ANNUAL CONGRESSIONAL CITY CONFERENCE - MARCH 13-17, 2010 -WASHINGTON, DC SUMMARY Attached for Council's consideration is information regarding the National League of Cities 2010 Annual Congressional City Conference. Staff Recommendation Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the attendance at City expense, any Council Member, the City Manager or staff designee. ANALYSIS Conference sessions will include: Economic recovery for cities and towns; Rebuild the nation's infrastructure; Regional and local economies; Federal and local energy efficiency and conservation efforts; Sustainable development in communities; Public safety resources and more. FINANCIAL REVIEW Expenses for this conference is included in the 2009-10 Budget. PUBLIC NOTICE PROCESS This item has been noticed through the regular agenda notification process. Tuesday, March 16 The President and his Cabinet members and Congressional leaders are invited to discuss their priorities and the ways in which Washington can partner with cities and towns to meet the challenges facing the country.
