CC - Item 7B - Parks, Recreation, and General Facilities Master Plan Capital Improvement Project ListROSEMEAD CITY COUNCIL STAFF REPORT TO: THE HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COU IL FROM: JEFFRY ALLRED, CITY MANAGER DATE: FEBRUARY 23, 2010 SUBJECT: PARKS, RECREATION, AND GENERAL FACILITIES MASTER PLAN CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS LIST SUMMARY At its regular meeting of August 11, 2009, City Council reviewed findings from outreach efforts related to the Parks, Recreation, and General Facilities Master Plan. The purpose of the Master Plan is to evaluate programs and facilities and, using community input, to determine a 15-year strategy for meeting the changing recreational needs of residents. A vital part of the project is the development of a specific Capital Improvement Projects plan. Completion of the Master Plan is identified as Goal 1, Strategy 5 of Rosemead's Vision 2020, and program recommendations are consistent with Goal 2, Strategy 11. The Master Plan is in its final phase-completion of chapters on capital projects and funding considerations. Both chapters are underway. However, in order to complete these, a City Council approved list of prioritized capital projects is needed. The financial portion of the plan, to be completed by Willdan Financial, will focus on funding options for these projects. Staff Recommendation Staff is seeking City Council approval of a prioritized list of capital projects for inclusion in the Parks, Recreation, and General Facilities Master Plan. PUBLIC NOTICE PROCESS This item has been noticed through the regular agenda notification process. FISCAL IMPACT Funds for the Master Plan are included in the current Capital Improvement Budget. 11, Strategy 5; Goal 2, Strategy 11. for aster Plan Capital Improvement Projects ITEM NO.
