CC - Item 4C - National League of Cities 2026 Summer Board and Leadership MeetingROSEMEAD CITY COUNCIL STAFF REPORT TO: THE HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL FROM: BEN KIM, CITY MANAGER DATE: JUNE 23, 2026 SUBJECT: NATIONAL LEAGUE OF CITIES 2026 SUMMER BOARD AND LEADERSHIP MEETING — LOUISVILLE, KY — JULY 8-10,2026 � 111' d"MI' l The City Council will consider authorizing the attendance of any Council Member who wishes to attend the 2026 National League of Cities 2026 Summer Board and Leadership Meeting to be held in Louisville, Kentucky, from July 8-10, 2026. The Summer Board & Leadership Meeting brings together National League of Cities Board of Directors, Federal Advocacy Committees, and Member Councils to discuss policy priorities and strategic goals. Participants review and amend policies, discuss the organization's budget, and address emerging issues affecting municipalities. STAFF RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the attendance and finance of any Council Member that attends the 2026 National League of Cities 2026 Summer Board and Leadership Meeting to be held in Louisville, Kentucky, from July 8-10, 2026. FINANCIAL IMPACT The Expense and Use of Public Resources Policy, adopted by City Council Resolution No. 2005-47, requires prior City Council approval for out-of-state travel beyond an adjacent state. Funding for this purpose is included in the City's annual budget. PUBLIC NOTICE PROCESS This item has been r oticed through the regular agenda notification process. Registration is now open. The Summer Board & Leadership Meeting is exclusively for NLC leadership that includes Board of Directors, Federal Advocacy Committees and Member Councils for a focused conversation on NLC policy and strategic goal setting. At this meeting, policy committees, member councils and NLC's board of directors meet to discuss the organization's budget, make policy amendments and discuss emerging issues for municipalities. View schedule. Registration is free, however, attendees are responsible for their hotel accommodation and transportation costs. The meeting will take place at the Omni Louisville.
