pURPOSE
The Advanced Community Academy is designed to provide participants with insight into LASD specialized units and better understanding of how deputies protect and serve the community.
Participants learned about the roles, responsibilities, and operations of specialized units, including Sheriff’s Response Team, Tactics & Survival, K9 Bomb Detection, Homicide Search K-9, Sierra Madre Search & Rescue, Sheriff’s Communication Center, Mental Evaluation Team, and Homicide Bureau.
