A. Approval of Minutes
CEQA: The following items are not subject to the California Environmental Quality Act.
Recommendation: The Parks Commission approves the regular meeting minutes of July
7, 2026.
3. MATTERS FROM STAFF
CEQA: The following items are not subject to the California Environmental Quality Act.
A. Anti-Hate Poetry Contest Winners Recognition
Tom Boecking, Director of Parks and Recreation, will present the 2026 Anti-Hate Poetry
Contest Winners.
Recommendation: That the Commission receive and file the report.
B. Rose of Excellence Awards
Tom Boecking, Director of Parks and Recreation, will present two part-time employees
with the monthly Rose of Excellence Award.
Recommendation: That the Commission receive and file the report.
C. Park Amenities Discussion at Potential Civic Center
Tom Boecking, Director of Parks and Recreation, will provide an update and ask the
Commission to provide input and prioritize the possible amenities at the Potential Civic
Center.
Recommendation: That the Commission provide feedback to staff.

D. Rosemead Park Upgrades Discussion
Tom Boecking, Director of Parks and Recreation, will lead a discussion regarding potential
upgrades to Rosemead Park. Staff will provide an overview of data located at community
outreach events and ask the Commission to prioritize possible upgrades.
Recommendation: That the Commission provide feedback to staff.
E. Monthly Parks & Recreation Department Review
Tom Boecking, Director of Parks and Recreation, will review a monthly report from the
Department.
Recommendation: That the Commission receive and file the report.

pm in the Council Chambers.
