INSURANCE AUTHORITY 9TH ANNUAL RISK MANAGEMENT
CONFERENCE, OCTOBER 13-15,2004, INDIAN WELLS
Attached is information regarding the aforementioned conference. This year's topics include:
Contractual Risk Transfer, Workers Compensation Prevention and Cost Containment,
Workplace Safety Problems, and Lessons Learned . From Claims and Lawsuits. Council and
staff have attended this event in the past.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Rosemead City Council authorize the attendance of any Council
Member, City Manager and staff as assigned by the City Manager.

The Hyatt Grand Champions Resort and Spa is nestled at the foot of the
majestic San Jacinto Mountains and is truly an oasis in the celebrated
European style. Moorish architecture and lush accommodations create an

CALIFORNIA JPIA group rate (available October 12 - 14 only) is $175
per night. The hotel charges a resort fee of $10.00 per night.
Complimentary self-parking is offered at the hotel. Reservations must be
made by September 9 to receive the discounted rate. To make your hotel

The Golf Resort at Indian Wells has been host to the California State
Open- Championship and the Senior PGA Tour's Gulfstream
Invitational. The well-manicured greens and natural desert
surroundings of the West Course will challenge golfers at this year's
CALIFORNIA JPIA Golf Tournament on October 13.
The tournament fee of $110.00 includes a box lunch, cart and 18 holes
of golf.
