RE: 8333 HELLMAN AVENUE
During the June 23, 1985, regular meeting of the City Council a
status report was requested regarding the City's efforts to clean
the CalTrans maintenance yard at 8333 Hellman Avenue.
Attached, please find a copy of a letter and photographs that were
recently forwarded to CalTrans District Director, Heinz Heckeroth.
It is hoped that by bringing this matter to the attention of the
District Director it will receive more attention than currently
demonstrated by local CalTrans staff.
Staff will continue to work with CalTrans to resolve this situation
and inform the City Council of progress in this matter.

Dear Mr. Heckeroth:
Enclosed, please find several photographs of the CalTrans maintenance
yard located at 8333 Hellman Avenue in the City of Rosemead. As you
can see, these photographs clearly depict the overgrown and unkept
condition of the yard.
In addition to the overgrowth, photographs two and three depict road
debris and broken highway signs on the Walnut Grove Avenue offram'p
adjacent to the yard.
We bring this matter to your attention in the spirit of cooperation
to gain your assistance in resolving this situation since our request
to local CalTrans.staff have'fallen on deaf ears. Again, this letter
is not to criticize, but rather to foster a cooperative effort to
maintain all CalTrans facilities within the City.
If you have any questions or desire additional information, please do
not hesitate to contact me at your earliest convenience.
Your attention and support in this matter are greatly appreciated.
Sincerely, '
Frank G. Tripepi,
City Manager
