G. TRIPEPI, CITY
ARCH 29, 1989
MANAGER
RE: HOUSING FOR ROSEMEAD RESIDENTS ON FIXED INCOME
At the regular City Council meeting of February 14, 1989, Mobilehome
Park tenants, addressed the Council regarding several issues. One
group of tenants requested that the Council consider an ordinance
similar to the one adopted in Monrovia, which relates to regulations
regarding converting the Mobilehome Park to another use. Other
tenants requested relief from rent increases imposed as a result of
change of ownerships.
In response to these concerns; I have attached copies of previous
memorandums sent to you by the City Attorney addressing these
issues. Those documents are as follows:
1. Memorandum from the City Attorney, March 11, 1989, regarding
Mobilehome Rent Control.
2. Memorandum from the City Attorney, April 21, 1988, regarding
Regulation of Mobilehome Park Conversions.
3. Memorandum from the City Attorney, February 3, 1988,
regarding Mobilehome Rent Control.
4. Memorandum from the City Attorney, February 2, 1988',
regarding Mobilehome Park Regulations.
Also attached is a list of mobilehome parks in the City.
Although other issues may be brought up at the meeting this Tuesday,
a review of the minutes indicates that there will be at least a
request by those attending for rent control of mobilehome parks.
Other concerns they have expressed relate to subsiding of those
rents.
