Dear Mayor Vasquez:
DENTON D. TODD
Principal
This letter is written on behalf of Rosemead High School requesting the city's assistance, once again,
in sponsoring the Eighth Annual Run/Walk Against Drugs, Alcohol and Tobacco. The
event will be held Saturday, February 3, 1995 on the track and campus of Rosemead High
School.
Our target groups are students in the Rosemead schools ranging from kindergarten to twelfth grade.
We plan to award a T-shirt to all participants and prizes to the school having the greatest number
of participants as well as individual prizes in each race.
Rosemead High School anticipates a crowd in excess of 1,000 for this event. We are charging a
nominal entrance fee of $3.00 per runner. (This will insure a commitment and allow us to
determine the number of runners we must accommodate.) As you may recall, the City of Rosemead
has helped cover the cost of the T-shirts and awards, a figure of approximately $3,000.00.
This year it would be greatly appreciated if the City of Rosemead could help offset the cost of the
T-shirts and awards by donating approximately $3,000.00. Your consideration of this matter will
be appreciated.
