Instruction
This letter is, once again, written on behalf of Rosemead High School requesting the cooperation
of the City of Rosemead in sponsoring the Seventh Annual Run/Walk Against Drugs,
Alcohol and Tobacco to be held Saturday, January 21, 1995 on the track and campus of
Rosemead High School.
The target groups are students in the Rosemead schools ranging from kindergarten to twelfth
grade. We, once again, plan to award a T-shirt to all participants and prizes to the school
having the greatest number of participants as well as individual prizes in each race.
Rosemead High School anticipates a crowd in excess of 1,400 for this event. We are charging a
nominal entrance fee of $3.00 per runner. (This will insure a commitment and allow us to
determine the number of runners we must accommodate.) As you may recall, last year, the City
of Rosemead helped cover the cost of the T-shirts, a figure of approximately $3,000.00 for
1,500 T-shirts. We ran out of shirts due to the tremendous participation of the schools in our
community. This year, to take care of the number of participants, we will need to order 1,700
shirts.
This year, we would appreciate it if. the City of Rosemead could help.offset the cost of the
T-shirts by donating approximately $3,000.00. Your consideration of this matter will be
greatly appreciated.
