CC - Item 8D - Application for Used Oil Recycling Block Grant FundingROSEMEAD CITY COUNCIL STAFF REPORT TO: THE HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL FROM: JEFF ALLRED, CITY MANAGER DATE: JUNE 22, 2010 SUBJECT: APPLICATION FOR USED OIL RECYCLING BLOCK GRANT FUNDING SUMMARY The California Oil Recycling Enhancement Act of 1991 authorizes the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle), formerly the California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB), to award grants to enhance the collection and recycling of used lubricating oil. Rosemead is eligible to apply under the sixteenth funding cycle of this program, for the July 1, 2010 - June 30, 2011 fiscal year. An application for these grant funds must be accompanied by a resolution authorizing the City's grant submittal. Staff Recommendation It is recommended that the City Council approve Resolution No. 2010-43 authorizing the submittal of an application to the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery for funding under the Sixteenth Cycle of the Used Oil Recycling Block Grant Program.
