REGULAR MEETING
JANUARY 16, 1978
MINUTES
1. CALL TO ORDER- The regular meeting of the Planning Commission
was called to order by Chairman DeTora at 7:30 p.m. in the
Council Chambers of the Rosemead City Hall, 8838 Valley
Boulevard, Rosemead, California.
Pledge of Allegiance was led by Commissioner Lowrey
Invocation was delivered by Commissioner Cleveland
2. ROLL CALL: Present: Tury, Ritchie, DeTora, Cleveland, Lowrey
Ex officio: Dilkes, Dickey, Sullivan, Burns
3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Regular Meeting- January 3, 1978
It was moved by Commissioner Tury, second by Commissioner
Ritchie to approve the Minutes of January 3, 1978, as
printed.
ROLL CALL.VOTE: AYES: Tury, Ritchie, DeTora, Cleveland,
Lowrey
4. ORAL COM[UNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE- On items not on the
Agen a- None
5. PARCEL MAP 10245- Request by Chris Construction Company to
subdivide an existing parcel into two lots located at 9248 -50
Rio Dell Street, Rosemead.
Mr. Sullivan presented the Staff Report
Discussion by the Commission
Discussion ensued regarding the block wall be extended to
the rear of the property. Also, controversey over the 3 ".
base crushed rock for the access strip.
It was moved by Commissioner Lowrey, second by Commissioner
Tury to approve Parcel Map 10245 with Conditions as listed
in the Staff Report, and approve the Negative Declaration.
ROLL CALL VOTE: AYES: Tury, Ritchie, Cleveland, Lowrey
NOES: De Tora_
Chairman DeTora voted No as he felt the block wall should
be extended to the rear of the property.
6. PARCEL MAP 10061- Request by Crawford Stores, Inc. for
.modification of two conditions placed on said map.
Mr. Sullivan presented the Staff Report
Discussion by the Commission
Discussion ensued regarding the dedication to the City of
the nine feet at the rear portion of the property for future
widening of the alley. Also the two feet at the front of the
property.

It was moved by Commissioner Ritchie, second by Commissioner
Clevland to remove the irrevocable offer to dedicate the
nine feet at the rear portion of the property. The two
feet at the front of the property would remain dedicated to
the City.
ROLL CALL VOTE: AYES: Tury, Ritchie, DeTora, Cleveland,
Lowrey
7. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE- None
8. MATTERS FROM CITY OFFICIALS AND STAFF
The Commission was polled on attendance for the Planning
Commissioners Institute in Oakland, California.
The Commission was also polled for registration in
Anaheim, California for "Short Course for Planning
Commissioners ".
Bob Dickey stated that he would be on vacation from
January 26- Febrary 13, 1978.
9. ADJOUlIN14ENT: There being no further business to come
etore t e Planning Commission, Chairman DeTora adjourned
the Meeting at 8:20 p.m.
The next Meeting of the Planning Commission will be held
on February 6, 1978.
