PC - Mintues 08-2-76CITY OF ROSEMEAD PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES August 2, 1976 A regular meeting of the Rosemead Planning Commission was called to order at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Rosemead City Hall, 8838 Valley Boulevard, Rosemead California. 1. CALL TO ORDER The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Commissioner Cianciola The Invocation was delivered by Commissioner DeTora 2. ROLL CALL Commissioners: Present: Cianciola, DeTora, Lowrey . Absent: Revelles, Ritchie (Both excused) Ex officio: Wallin, Sullivan, Christianson, Dickey 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - July 19, 1976 - Regular Meeting Chairman DeTora deferred approval of July 29, 1976 minutes to the next regular meeting of the Planning Commission to provide for a full quorum. There was no objection. 4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE - None. RIigTNRRS 5. DESIGN REVIEW - APPLICANT REQUESTS APPROVAL FOR A SINGLE- FACED SIGN TO BE ERECTED AT 3925 ROSEMEAD BOULEVARD. Mr. Sullivan presented the staff report. Addressing the Commission: Mr. David Cross, 3925 Rosemead Boulevard, applicant Mr'. Bill Hormuth, G-M Signs City Attorney Wallin informed Mr. Cross that there was a prohibition of signs in the P-0 Zone and the Commission could not act on the matter at this time, however a revised P-0 Ordinance was being considered by the City Council and upon adoption the sign could be:resubmitted for design review. It was moved by Commissioner.Lowrey, second by Commissioner Cianciola and carried to defer consideration of the sign as submitted to October 1, 1976. ROLL CALL VOTE: AYES: Cianciola, DeTora, Lowrey NOES: None ABSENT: Revelles, Ritchie 6. RELOCATION PERMIT EXTENSION REQUEST - Relocation located at 2240 Charlotte Avenue, Rosemead. Mr. Sullivan presented the staff report. Addressing the Commission: Mr. Salh Spillars, Contractor, commented that the reason for requesting an extension was because the house movers and sub-contractors were weeks late on commencing the relocation and reconstruction. ROLL CALL VOTE: AYES: Cianciola, DeTora, Lowrey NOES: None ABSENT: Revelles, Ritchie 7. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE - None 8. MATTERS FROM CITY OFFICIALS AND STAFF City Attorney Wallin presented an Ordinance that would place a 180 day moratorium on Adult Businesses in the City of Rosemead and advised setting a public hearing as soon as possible or referring this matter to the City Council for adoption of.an urgency ordinance. It was moved by Commissioner Lowrey, second by Commissioner DeTora and carried to set the public hearing on this matter for August 16, 1976. ROLL CALL VOTE: AYES: Cianciola, DeTora,Lowrey NOES: None ABSENT: Revelles, Ritchie Chariman DeTora requested that in the future all agenda material be hand delivered and not mailed. Staff stated this would be done. 9. ADJOURNMENT Chairman DeTora adjourned the meeting at 8:15 p.m.
