PLANNING COMMISSION
MINUTES
July 19, 1976
A regular meeting of the Rosemead Planning Commission was
called to order at 7:30 p:m. in the Council Chambers of the
Rosemead City Hall, 8838 Valley Boulevard, Rosemead,
Calif ornia.
1. CALL TO ORDER
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Commissioner Ritchie.
The Invocation was delivered by Commissioner Cianciola.
2. ROLL CALL
Commissioners:
Present: Revelles, Cianciola, DeTora, Ritchie
Absent: Lowrey (excused)
Ex officio: Christianson, Sullivan, Dilkes, Dickey
3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - July 6, 1976 - REGULAR MEETING
It was moved by Commissioner Ritchie, second by Commissioner
Revelles, and carried to approve the minutes of July 6, 1976
as printed.

AYES: Revelles, Cianciola, DeTora, Ritchie
NOES: None
ABSENT: Lowrey
4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE - None
BUSINESS
5. RELOCATION APPLICATION. Continuation of relocation request
from July 6, 1976 meeting. A one story duplex reloCated to
2632 Muscatel Avenue, Rosemead.
Mr. Sullivan presented the staff report.
Discussion followed.
Addressing the Commission: Mr. Daniel Gray
It was moved by Commissioner Ritchie, second by Commissioner
Cianciola to approve the relocation for 2632 Muscatel Avenue
subject to the following conditions:
1. Building to be relocated substantially in
compliance with the Plot Plan.
2. Comply with the requiremenss of the Building
Department as per the relocation inspection.
3. Within.5 days of approval of this permit submit a
notarized affidavit of agreement with the Planning
Department.
4. Submit a $2000 Performance Bond within 10 days
of approval of this Relocation request.
5. The proposed structure shall be moved and
construction completed within 90 days of
approval.

It was moved'to approve Findings 1-5 of the staff report
dated July 19, 1976 for Parcel Map 6967.
ROLL CALL VOTE:

NOES: None

it was moved by Commissioner Titchie, second by Commissioner
Cianciola and carried to approve Parcel Map 6967 subject
the the Conditions 1-5 of the Staff Report, and the
findings and conditions of the County Engineer's Report
dated July 8, 1976.

The Commission determined that in the future, calculating
square footage of flag lots would be done by taking each
subdivision on its own merit. (i.e. whether to include
driveway strip in total square footage or. not)

It was moved by Commissioner Ritchie, second by Commissioner
Cianciola and carried tD approve Resolution 76-14.

ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE -
Mr. Mervin Kennedy, 9139 Marshall. Mr. Kennedy.
stated he appreciated coming and observing the
Planning Commission.
MATTERS FROM CITY OFFICIALS AND STAFF
A. Relocation Memorandum
Consideration of revision of Relocation Ordinance.
Commission directed staff to initiate the administrative
policy with the County Road Department regarding issuing,
of relocation permits.
Chairman DeTora set a Study Session on the Relocation
Ordinance revision for the first meeting in September
B. Polling for the So. California Planning Congress
meeting on August 12, 1976.
C. Commissioner Cianciola queried on the study of
manufacturing uses in commercial zones. City
Attorney Dilkes discussed what consideration
is being given at this-time and commented on
alternatives to the problem.
D. Commissioner Ritchie discussed the status of the
progress on the General Plan amendments. .
E. Commissioner Ritchie and Commissioner Revelles
asked to be excused for the next Planning
Commission because of vacation.

F. Commissioner DeTora asked about a move in at 3238 Muscatel
Avenue that has had no progress to the repair in the
last six months.
Staff stated they would look in to the problem in order
to resolve it.
12. ADJOURNMENT - There being no further business to come before
the Commission, The meeting was adjourned.
Meeting adjourned 9:40 p.m.
