STUDY SESSION - Relocation Ordinance
Commission discussed merits of various ordinances of other
cities, particularly that of Monterey Park.
Commissioner Lowrey questioned the feasibility of Commission
approving the application for permit to relocate (before
Staff took further action).
Regarding applications, it was the consensus of the Commission
to combine the pertinent sections of the Rosemead ordinance
and the Monterey Park ordinance.
It was the consensus of the Commission that a fairly high
fee charge for relocations would discourage poorer quality
homes from relocating into the City.
It was moved by Commissioner Tury, seconded by Commissioner
Cianciola and carried to set the application fee for relocations
at $150.00 non-refundable. The motion was unanimously carried.
The merits of the "Applications" section of the Monterey Park
ordinance were discussed by the Commission.
It was moved by Commissioner Tury, seconded by Commissioner
Ritchie and unanimously carried to incorporate the "Application"
section (16.40.030) of the Monterey Park ordinance into the
Rosemead ordinance, noting changes and replacing their "No. 8"
with our subsection "b", adding "No. 9" regarding inspection
for termites.
After discussion by the Commission, it was moved by Commissioner
Tury, seconded by Commissioner Lowrey, and unanimously carried
to :incorporate Monterey Park ordinance section 1.6.40.050 on
Investigation of Relocations into the Rosemead Ordinance, noting
changes.'
Commissioners discussed the matter of public hearings regarding
relocations.
It was moved by Commissioner Lowrey, seconded by Commissioner
Cianci.ol.a, and unanimously carried to adopt a section to the
ordinance requiring public hearings. This section is to follow
the format as in section 16.40.060 of the Monterey Park ordinance,
and to include requirements for publication of the hearing,
posting in the legally prescribed areas, noticing of contiguous
properties, and posting on the subject property with a large
sign.
