A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY
COUNCIL AMENDMENT TO THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF
THE GENERAL PLAN, APPROVAL OF LAND USE
DESIGNATIONS, LAND USE CRITERIA, AND AMENDING
LAND (SE DESIGNATIONS IN CERTAIN AREAS.
THE PLANNING C
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES
Section 1. The Planning Commission does hereby find
and determine that a public hearing was duly set for January
19, 1976 at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Rosemead
City Hall, 8838 Valley Boulevard, Rosemead, California and a
notice of the time, purpose, date, place of the aforesaid hearing
was duly given; that a hearing was duly held at the aforementioned
time and place.
Section 2. The Planning Commission further finds
the General Plan, as a statement of development policies setting
forth objectives, principles, standards, and proposals reflecting
the physical conditions, demographic location, financial and staff
resources and goals and potentials of the community, should
incorporate the following criteria to guide the recommended land uses
and changes in land uses:
1. Provide for continuation of successful established
uses.-
2. Retain the potential for orderly growth.
3. Provide for compatibility of uses.
4. Attain a degree of consistency between
uses, the Zoning Ordinance, and the General
Plan.
Section 3. The Planning Commission finds that the
Land Use Element oche General Plan should specify the general
distribution, general location, and extent of land use such as
housing, business, industry, open space, agriculture, natural
resources, recreation and enjoyment of scenic beauty, education
and public buildings and grounds and to provide for this the
Planning Commission recommends establishment of the following
land uses:
1.

- Low Density Residential

- Multiple Residential

- Industrial

- Agricultural

- Educational
7.
P
- Public Facilities
8.
OS
- Open Space, Recreation enjoyment
of scenic beauty and natural
resources.
Section 4. The Planning Commission further finds that
after reviewing three areas shown on the attached map in light of
the above established criteria and land uses, that the Land Use
Element of the General Plan should specify the land use in.the
fallowing areas as shown on the attached maps:.
1. Vicinity of Rosemead Boulevard/ Mission Drive/
Muscatel: Street: Residential High Density,
Residential Low Density and Commercial.
2. Vicinity of Rosemead Boulevard/ Marshall Street
San Bernardino Freeway. Low Density Residential
and Commercial.
Section 5. The Planning Commission further finds and
determines t.at a -Negative Declaration was prepared on these
recommended land uses; and that no significant adverse environmental
effects were identified associated with the establishment of these
land uses; and the Planning Commission finds that the Negativec
Declaration was prepared in compliance with CEQA, the Guidelines
for the Implementation of CEQA, and Rosemead Resolution 75-28.
Section 6. The Planning Commission further finds
the land uses as specified in Section 3 and as shown on the
attached maps are in keeping with the aforementioned criteria
and land uses and are good'planning practice and recommends that
the :City Council adopt a Resolution approving this portion of
the Land Use Element of the General Plan.
Section 7. The Secretary shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution and shall transmit copies of the
same to the Rosemead City Clerk.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 19th day of January, 1976.

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of the
Resolution adopted by the Planning Commission of the City of
Rosemead at it's regular neeting held on the 19th day of
January, 1976 by the following vote:
