The Planning Commission is a five member advisory body to the City Council. Commissioners are appointed by the Council. The Commission has been delegated the responsibility for approval of lot splits, plot plans, zone variances, conditional use permits, environmental impact reports, and to make recommendations to the City Council concerning the General Plan, zone changes, subdivision review, environmental impact reports, and short and long range planning matters affecting the City of Rosemead. Within the general guidelines established by HUD and the County, the City of Rosemead can use CDBG funds for locally determined projects that meet the objective of the program. The primary goals of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Programs is the development of viable urban communities, including decent housing and a suitable living environment. The program also is intended to support community development activities that improves the elimination of conditions which are detrimental to health, safety and public welfare, through code enforcement, property improvement, rehabilitation assistance, and programs that benefit persons of low and moderate income.
