PC - 1993-07 - Granting Conditional Approval of Design Review 93-57• PC RESOLUTION 93-7 i A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD GRANTING CONDITIONAL APPROVAL OF DESIGN REVIEW 93-57 TO CHANGE THE SIGN LOGO AT THE MAY COMPANY DEPARTMENT STORE LOCATED AT 1900 TOWN CENTER DRIVE, ROSEMEAD. THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The Planning Commission does hereby find and determine that an application was duly filed by Tim Nagao to change the sign logo at the May Company Department store located at: 1900 Town Center Drive and that a public hearing was duly scheduled for February 1, 1993 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Rosemead City Hall, 8838 Valley Boulevard, Rosemead, California; and that notice of the time, date, place, and purpose of the aforesaid hearing was duly given; and that a public hearing was duly conducted at the aforementioned time and place. Section 2. The Planning Commission further finds and determines that facts do exist as required by Section 9119. et seq. of the Ordinance of the City of Rosemead, justifying the granting of approval of the design review application. Section 3. The Planning Commission further finds: 1. The plans indicate proper consideration for the relationship between the proposed sign and site developments that exist in the general neighborhood; 2. The proposed sign is no appearance, so at variance existing buildings or neighborhood as to cause environment to materially value; t, in with site the depr its exterior design and the appearance of other developments in the nature of the local aciate in appearance and 3. on the basis of evaluation, this project has been determined to qualify for a Categorical Exemption accordance with CEQA and local regulations. Section 4. Based on the aforementioned findings, the Commission hereby approves the design review application with respect to the property described in section 1 of this resolution, subject to the conditions contained within the attached Exhibit A. Section 5. This action shall become final and effective ten (10) days after this decision by the Planning commission unless within such time a written appeal is filed with the City Clerk for consideration by the Rosemead City Council. Section 6. This resolution is the result of an action taken by the Planning Commission on February 1, 1993, by the following vote: YES: Ruiz, Lowrey,'Breen, Young NO: None ABSENT: Ortiz ABSTAIN: None ADOPTED this 16th day of February. 1993. MERCED "BILL" ORTIZ;~CHAIRMAN EXHIBIT A DESIGN REVIEW 91-57 ROBINSONS-MAY COMPANY - 1900 TOWN CENTER DRIVE CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL FEBRUARY 1, 1993 1. This project shall be developed as per the plans marked Exhibit B, dated 12-9-92, and approved by the Planning Commission on 2-1-93. 2. All exterior lighting shall be directed away from adjacent properties. Motion detector lights shall be installed where deemed necessary and as approved by the Director of Planning. 3. That the applicant shall comply with all requirements of the planning, building, and municipal code of the City of Montebello and the standards set forth in the Redevelopment Plan of the Montebello Redevelopment Agency, as applicable. 4. All mechanical equipment located on the roof shall be screened from public view by parapet walls or other screening devices as approved by the city of Rosemead. 5. The applicant shall sign a notarized affidavit agreeing to abide by these conditions and return it to the City within ten (10) days of approval.
