1. CALL TO ORDER - The Study Session was called to order at 6:00 p.m., in the
ConSerence Room of Rosemead City Hall, 88.88 Valley Boulevard, Rosemead
California.
2. ROLL CALL - Present: Schymos, De Cocker, Ritchie, Lowrey, Mattern
Absent: None
Ex Officio: Kress, Carmona, Christianson, Tang
3. MATTERS DISCUSSED - Proposed Zoning Ordinance
After opening comments from.staff, discussion by the Commission on the i
most effective manner of reviewing the Draft Zoning Ordinance. The Commission
agreed to review the document on a chapter-by-chapter basis, allowing the
opportunity for open discussion on any aspect of interest.
Throughout the review a number of points were considered for'consistency,_change
or deletion. Principal difference between the existing and the proposed
zoning ordinance were generally identified for staff to comprehensively identify
changes. The following amendments or changes were directed to be incorporated
within the draft Zoning Ordinance:

IX-5 Insert "Building Official" between, "(8) Building, main", and "(9)
Building Site".
IX-6 Under "C "(10) Club", insert "lodge. . .premises used by an association
of persons or lodge".
IX-9 Cross-reference, "(6) fence" and with "Wall".
IX-10 Under "G", "(3) grade", add. unless otherwise specified in the
more restrictive zones. .
IX-10 Under "H", "(1) Height", add unless otherwise specified in the
more restrictive zones. .
IX-12 Under "L", insert "lodge halls" between "(2) Livestock" and "(3) Long
Term Facility".
IX-15 Under "M", insert "Manufactured Housing", between "(3) Manufacturing"
and "(4) Medical and/or Dental Health Clinic".
IX-21 Cross-reference, "(1) Wall" with "Fence".
IX-29 Add, "Distance between buildings - 15 feet."
IX-29 Section 9204. Limitations on Use, (a) (1) Delete, or side.
IX-33 Section 9252. Standards of Development, (a) Change "two stories" to
two-and-a-half (22) stories.
IX-34 Section 9253. (b), Insert "minimum as follows, shall be twice
the minimum required side yard."
IX-36 Section 9255. (a) (1), delete, or side", from Section.
IX-36 Section 9255. (a) (2) & (3), delete everything and add the requirements
from the R-1 Section 9204 (a) (2) pertaining to limitations on use.
The Planning Commission concluded the.review of the draft Ordinance on Page IX-56,
and indicated a desire to continue review of the Ordinance at a future study

session. Staff was instructed to'prepare a draft flag lot ordinance using
past conditions and policies as a guide. The draft flag lot ordinance would
be taken under consideration.at the next study session.
4. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Commission, Chairman Ritchie
adjourned the study session at 9:30 p.m.
