MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
ROSEMEAD BUILDING REHABILITATION
APPEALS BOARD
January 24, 2006
Chairman Imperial called the regular meeting of the Rosemead Building Rehabilitation Appeals
Board to order at 7:05 p.m. in the Conference Room of City Hall, 8838 E: Valley Boulevard,
Rosemead, California.
Boardmember Tran led the pledge to the flag and Boardmember Clark led the invocation.
ROLL CALL OF OFFICERS:
Present: Boardmembers Clark, Nunez, Tran, Vice-Chairman Taylor, and Chairman
Imperial
Absent: None
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: None
L ADMINISTRATION OF OATH
The Board Secretary administered the oath to all persons wishing to address the Board.
II. HEARINGS
A. 2461 Earle Avenue
Case was initiated in March 2005; compliance has not been achieved in over 10
months; minor improvement progress was reported and a rehabilitation permit was
requested. A permit cannot be issued until ownership is established. A probate court
date has been set for February 15, 2006
Witness testimony was given by the following siblings:
• Martha C. Guevara from 2461 Earle Avenue;
• Carmen Lizea from 2502 La Pressa; and
• Yolanda Chavez from 3634 Dubanet Avenue
It was stated that Ms. Guevara's permit request for improvements would not be
accepted until the following two documents are presented to city staff:
1) An original document indicating appointment as an Executor of the estate
2) A document from the Executor giving permission to Ms. Guevara to improve the
property.

Staff recommended that the Board find the property substandard and order
substandard conditions removed or corrected by March 1, 2006 and if sufficient
improvements are made by then, the abatement period be extended to April 3, 2006.
Boardmember Taylor put forth a motion by, with a 2°d by Boardmember Nunez to
accept the staff recommendation, declare this property substandard and that all
substandard conditions are removed and/or corrected as indicated above; vote
resulted:
Aye: Clark, Imperial, Nunez, Taylor, Tran
No: None
Absent: None
Abstain: None
The Chairman declared said motion duly carried and so ordered.

C. CITY PROSECUTING ATTORNEY REFERRAL UPDATE
No action was required on the aforementioned items.

V. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further action to be taken at this time, the meeting was adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for February 14, 2006 at 7:00 p.m.
