MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED MEETING
ROSEMEAD CITY COUNCIL
JULY 16, 1985 AT 7:30 P. M.
The Adjourned Meeting of the Rosemead City Council was
called by Mayor Tury at 7:40 p. m., in the Conference Room
of City Hall, 8838 E. Valley Boulevard, Rosemead, California.
The Pledge to the Flag was led by Councilman Bruesch.
The Invocation was delivered by Councilman Taylor.
This meeting was conducted in order to interview the 12
applicants for the one vacancy on the Rosemead Planning Com-
mission.
The applicants interviewed were:

Alan Dimond

Ronald Bradley

Virginia Gutierrez
7.
Edmund Lucey
8.
Merced G. Bill Ortiz
9.
Bertha Saavedra

Ciro Sepulveda
11.
Ignacio Willie
12.
Bob Young
It was the concensus.of the City Council that most of the
applicants were very well qualified and sincere in their interest
in the City of Rosemead.
Following the interview process and discussion of the merits
of each individual candidate,the City,Council made their decision
to appoint Bob Young as the new Planning.Commissioner for the in-
terim period until November, 1985. However, since Bob Young is a
Traffic Commissioner, this automatically created a vacancy on the
Traffic Commission, therefore, Bill Ortiz was appointed to serve
on the Traffic Commission for the interim period until October,
1985.
MOTION BY COUNCILMAN IMPERIAL,,SECONDED BY COUNCILMAN TAYLOR
that Bob Young be appointed to the Rosemead Planning Commission
effective August, 1985 for the interim period until November, 1985
and that Bill Ortiz be appointed to the Rosemead Traffic Commission
effective August, 1985 for the interim period until October, 1985,
be approved. Vote resulted:
UPON ROLL CALL ALL COUNCILMEMBERS PRESENT VOTED AYE.
The Mayor declared said motion duly carried and so ordered.
The Clerk called both of the appointees and both expressed
pleasure at their appointment.
The Mayor stated that this interviewing process had been
very worthwhile and applicants would be notified of the Council's
decision and that the names of the applicants should be kept in
case there are vacancies that may be coming up on the commissions.
There being no other business to handle, the Council Meeting
was adjourned to the next regular meeting of July 23, 1985 at
8:00 p. m.
