CDC - Item 2 - Hogle-Ireland CEQA PresentationMemorandum
To: Bill Crowe, City Manager
From: Stephen Copenhaver, GRC Associates, Inc.
Date: February 19, 2004
Subject: Hogle-Ireland CEQA Presentation
1 was attending a planning commission meeting in another city and had the
opportunity to listen to Larry Hogle give a presentation on the history, purpose
and use of the environmental impact report process. Mr. Hogle is the owner of
Hogle-Ireland, which is perhaps the premier city planning firm in southern
California. The firm has a great deal of experience in complex and
controversial development projects.
In his presentation, Mr. Hogle was able to provide a perspective on the
environmental impact process that only someone that has been dealing with the
issues for decades could have, and I asked if he would be willing to give a
similar presentation for the Rosemead staff and Community Development
Commission to hear. Mr. Hogle agreed to attend the Commission meeting
(without compensation) stating that he enjoys sharing his perspective with
cities.
