Subject: Adoption of Resolution No. 2002-16 Consenting to a Joint
Public Hearing on the Redevelopment Plan for Rosemead
Redevelopment Project Area No. 1, Amendment 4 and the
Negative Declaration
INTRODUCTION
The amendment of the Redevelopment Plan for Rosemead Redevelopment Project
Area No. 1, requires that the commission and City Council conduct a public hearing.
STATEMENT OF FACT
Based upon Health and Safety Code requirements, the city Council and the
Commission must consider, at a public hearing, the Redevelopment Plan for
Rosemead Redevelopment Area Project No. 1, Amendment 4. A notice of the public
hearing must published in a newspaper

notice is required to be mailed, by fist---
parcel of land in the area designated in the Redevelopment Plan., Additionally,. the
notice is required to be mailed to all residents and businesses within the Project Area
by first-class mail and to the governing body of each taxing agency by certified mail.
Through the adoption of the attached resolution, the Commission will establish the
time, date and place of the public hearing for Amendment 4 as follows:

Law and will establish the time, date and place of the public hearing for Amendment
4.
RECOMMENDATION
It is staff's recommendation that the commission adopt Resolution No. 2002-16
consenting to a Joint Public Hearing on the Redevelopment Redevelopment Project Area No. 1, Amendment and the Negative Declaration.

RESPECT TO THE REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR ROSEMEAD

WHEREAS, the Rosemead Community Development Commission (the "Commission")
has initiated proceedings for the Redevelopment Plan for the Rosemead Redevelopment Project
Area No. 1, Amendment 4 (the "Amendment 4"); and
WHEREAS, the Commission and the City Council of the City of Rosemead (the "City
Council") must hold a joint public hearing for the purpose of considering the proposed Amendment 4
and the Negative Declaration; and
WHEREAS, Redevelopment Law Section 33452 requires that a notice of said public
hearing be published in a newspaper of general circulation and be mailed to each property owner,
resident, business and affected taxing agency.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the Rosemead Community
Development Commission as follows:
SECTION 1: The Rosemead Community Development Commission hereby authorizes
and consents to holding a joint public hearing with the City Council for the purpose of considering
Amendment 4 and the Negative Declaration at the following time and place:
Date: September 24, 2002
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Place: Rosemead City Hall Council Chambers
SECTION 2: The Secretary of the Commission, in cooperation with the City Clerk,. is
authorized and directed to give notice of such public hearing in the form and manner required by
law.
