USING REDEVELOPMENT TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE IN YOUR COMMUNITY
"
THROUGH EDUCATION, MARKETING, AND PROMOTION -
Redevelopment is often the driving force used to improve the quality of life in communities
throughout California. This force is often not promoted or recognized by the public at
- - -
large, thus redevelopment is not credited for quality of life improvements made in a .
community. Creating a community park in an urban setting or attracting an essential
business to an area that might otherwise be overlooked by developers are but a few
examples of how redevelopment agencies improve the quality of life for residents.
This panel will review two successful 2002 CRA Award of Excellence winning
redevelopment projects that address quality of life issues. '
• Learn how the City of West Sacramento used redevelopment to improve its riverfront
redevelopment efforts
• See how the City of Concord used the "Concord, Where Families Come First" program .
to meet the needs of their residents
