APPROVAL OF MINUTES: JANUARY 25, 2000 - REGULAR MEETING
OF INTEREST TO CITIZENS WISHING TO PARTICIPATE

Recommendation: Adopt Resolution No. 00-04, for payment of City expenditures.
IV. CONSENT CALENDAR - RECOMMENDATION: APPROVAL
_423~EQUEST FOR 24-HOUR PER DAY DRILLING
The EPA is proposing to install two monitoring wells on Walnut Grove Avenue to
Determine levels of groundwater contamination. A 24-hour per day drilling operation is
required for the inspection process.
Recommendation: Approve the request for 24-hour drilling.

-_02(~--BICITY COUNCIL USE OF CITY OWNED COMPUTERS
Several members of the City Council are active in California Contract Cities, the League
O of California Cities, and National League of Cities and frequently receive urgent a-mails
and faxes. At the same time, the information age increasingly demands that
Councilmembers have instant access to communications from constituents and state
and local municipal organizations. Since the City has already purchased two computers
for Council use, the start up cost of the program would be $2,000, plus installation, for
each computer. Ongoing annual charges for telephone and internet access would be
$600 for each participating Councilmember.
Recommendation: Authorize the use of City owned computers, peripheral equipment,
and telephone and Internet access by Councilmembers during their term of office.
V. MATTERS F R DISCUSSION AND ACTION
UTHORIZATION TO FILE BID FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 9201
LOWER AZUSA ROAD (APN: 8592-019-061)
The County of Los Angeles Treasurer and Tax Collectors Office will be offering
properties at public auction on March 13, 2000, Public taxing agencies may acquire

property needed for public purposes.
Recommendation: Request acquisition of parcel through a Chapter 8 agreement with
County of Los Angeles.
B. MEMBERSHIP IN THE SAN GABRIEL VALLEY ECONOMIC
PARTNERSHIP OF COMMERCE & CITIES
The Partnership is a coalition of public agencies and private sector organizations working
to sustain the economic base of the San Gabriel Valley. Their goal is to market the
Valley internally and externally to attract more businesses and quality jobs.
Recommendation: Authorize membership in the Economic Partnership of Commerce
& Cities and appropriate the necessary funds.
