A. PUBLIC HEARING — RECOMMENDED EXPENDITURES OF CITIZEN'S
OPTION FOR PUBLIC SAFETY (COPS) FUNDS
This Public Hearing is required before City Council approval of appropriation of
C.O.P.S. funding allocation as recommended by the Sheriffs Department.
Recommendation: Approve appropriation of C.O.P.S. funds from unappropriated
reserves.
da PUBLIC HEARING —APPROVAL OF LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT
BLOCK GRANT ( LLEBG) PROGRAM FUNDING
This Public Hearing is required before City Council approval of funding
recommendations for the FY 2000 -2001 LLEBG Program.
Recommendation: Approve funding recommendations and approve matching funds of
$13,306 from unappropriated reserves.

R ommendation: Adopt Resolution No. 2000 -47, for payment of City expenditures.
B. RESOLUTION NO. 2000 -48 — A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF HOLDING A GENERAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION ON TUESDAY, MARCH 6, 2001
State law requires that a resolution be adopted calling and ordering a general municipal
election for the purpose of electing three members to the City Council for the full term of
four years.
Recommendation: Adopt Resolution No. 2000 -48.
C. RESOLUTION NO. 2000 -49 — A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF LOS
ANGELES TO RENDER SPECIFIED SERVICES TO THE CITY RELATION
TO THE CONDUCT OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD
ON TUESDAY, MARCH 6, 2001.
This resolution is requesting that the County prepare and furnish election related services
to the City.
ecommendation: Adopt Resolution No. 2000 -49.
D. ORDINANCE NO. 813 — AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ROSEMEAD ADDING CHAPTER 5.42 TO THE ROSEMEAD
MUNICIPAL CODE TO CREATE OPERATIONAL STANDARDS FOR
HOTELS AND MOTEL AND AMENDING SECTIONS 17.112.030 AND
17.48.020 OF THE CODE REGARDING CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT
REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCH USES — ADOPT
This Ordinance was introduced at the September 12, 2000 meeting. These amendments
will set operational standards for hotels and motels and revise existing conditions of
approval. '
Recommendation: Adopt Ordinance No. 813.
E. ORDINANCE NO. 814 —AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ROSEMEAD AMENDING SECTION 17.124 OF THE ROSEMEAD
MUNICIPAL CODE WHICH WILL AMEND THE APPEAL PROCESS FOR
VARIANCE AND CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT APPLICATIONS — ADOPT
This Ordinance was introduced at the September 12, 2000 meeting, which will amend the
appeal process for variance and conditional use permit applications.
Recommendation: Adopt Ordinance No. 814.
IV. CONS T CALENDAR -RECOMMENDATION: APPROVAL
CC- REQUEST FOR VISIBILITY OF NORTHBOUND TRAFFIC AT 2728 -2734
WALNUT GROVE AVENUE
A resident representing a homeowners association at 2728 -2734 Walnut Grove
Avenue is requesting traffic controls to provide additional visibility of northbound
traffic when exiting the site. Based on a field inspection and reported accident
history, staff is recommending the installation of 65' of red curb from the
aforementioned driveway and installation of a "NO PARKING" sign north of the
existing red curb.

Recommendation: Installation of 65' of red curb and installation of a "NO PARKING"
sign.
CC- NEWAL OF AGREEMENT — STREET TREE MAINTENANCE
The Contractor has indicated that there will not be an increase in fees and to date, the
contractor has provided quality service in a timely manner.
Recommendation: Approve the Extension of Agreement and authorize its execution by
Ile Mayor.
CC -C CCEPTANCE OF STREET IMPROVEMENTS ON VALLEY BOULEVARD
(CHARLOTTE AVENUE TO EATON WASH)
The subject project has been constructed in conformance with the approved plans and
specifications.
Recommendation: Accept the project, authorize recordation of the Notice of
Completion by the City Clerk, and authorize release of the retention of payment 35 days
after the date of the Notice of Completion.
