RESOLUTION NO. 2000 -51 - CLAIMS AND DEMANDS
Recommendation: Adopt Resolution No. 2000 -51, for payment of City expenditures.
B. RESOLUTION NO. 2000 -50 — A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD ADOPTING REGULATIONS FOR
CANDIDATES FOR ELECTIVE OFFICE PERTAINING TO CANDIDATE'S
STATEMENTS SUBMITTED TO THE VOTERS AT AN ELECTION TO BE
HELD ON TUESDAY, MARCH 6, 2001
This item involves discussion of the cost of printing the candidate's statements into
English and Spanish in the Sample Ballot and cost of translating Spanish, Chinese,
and Vietnamese in the facsimile sample ballot that must be made available per the Voters
Rights Act.
Recommendation: Adopt Resolution No. 2000 -52
RESOLUTION NO. 2000 -52 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD AUTHORIZING THE SHERIFF'S
DEPARTMENT AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT TO REQUEST THE
STATE DEPARTMENT OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE CONTROL TO
IMPOSE CONDITIONS ON THE PROPOSED TRANSFER OF ALCOHOLIC
BEVERAGE LICENSES
During the 1999 Legislative session, Business and Professions Code was amended to
allow jurisdictions to request ABC to impose conditions on alcohol licenses at time of
transfer of ownership.
Reco endation: Approve Resolution No. 2000 -52.
RESOLUTION NO. 2000 -53 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS AND
DETERMINATIONS WITH RESPECT TO REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
PAYMENT FOR ASPHALT CONCRETE OVERLAY ON VARIOUS
STREETS (FY 2000 -01)
By adopting this resolution, the Council finds that Redevelopment Agency payment for a
portion of the project benefits Project Area No. 1, there are no other reasonable means of
financing, and that the project will eliminate blighting conditions by providing a "new"
street appearance on roadways within and adjacent to the project area, thus enhancing the
value of abutting properties.
Recommendation: Adopt Resolution No. 2000 -53.
IV CONSENT CALENDAR - RECOMMENDATION: APPROVAL
C- REQUEST FOR "RIGHT TURN ONLY" SIGN AT THE DEVELOPMENT ON
THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF HELLMAN AVENUE AND WALNUT
GROVE AVENUE
City Council has requested staff review the driveway of the aforementioned center.
Based on a field inspection and a reported accident history, staff recommended the
installation of a "Right Turn Only" sign at the subject site. On September 7, 2000, the
Traffic Commission amended this recommendation to include the installation of right -
turn arrow pavement markings at the driveway entrance.
Recommendation: Approve the installation of "Right Turn Only" signs at the
development on the southwest corner of Hellman Avenue and Walnut Grove Avenue in
ad ition to the installation of right -turn only arrow pavement markings at the driveway
e trance/exit.
C-B REQUEST FOR "DO NOT BLOCK INTERSECTIO AT VALLEY
BOULEVARD /GERNART AVENUE, GARVEY AVENUE/PINE STREET
AND HELLMAN AVENUE /ALANREED AVENUE
Several requests from the public and the Council have been received requesting "Do Not
Block Intersection" signs at three intersections due to traffic blockage. Based on a field
inspection, staff recommended the installation of "Do Not Block Intersection" signs at
the aforementioned streets.
Recommendation: Approve the installation of "Do Not Block Intersection" signs at
Valley Boulevard /Gernart Avenue, Garvey Avenue/Pine Street, and Hellman
Avenue /Alanreed Avenue.
�EQUEST FOR "NO TRUCKS" SIGNS FOR LA PRESA AVENUE AND
BARTLETT AVENUE SOUTH OF GARVEY AVENUE
A resident is requesting parking control signage at La Presa Avenue and Bartlett Avenue
south of Garvey Avenue due to concerns of southbound trucks traveling on these streets
to make deliveries to businesses on Garvey Avenue. Based on a field inspection, staff
recommended the installation of "No Trucks Over 3 Tons" and red curb along the east
side of Bartlett Avenue south of Garvey Avenue at the subject site.
Recommendation: Approve the installation of "No Trucks Over 3 Tons" sign and red
curb along the east side of Bartlett Avenue south of Garvey Avenue at La Presa Avenue
and Bartlett Avenue south of Garvey Avenue

of "No Parking Vehicles Over 80 inches in Width on Any Street ".
Recommendation: Approve the installation of "No Parking Vehicles Over 80 Inches in
Width on Any Street" signs and the installation of red curb at selected sections of Temple
City Boulevard.
