ANNUAL CONGRESSIONAL CITIES CONFERENCE, MARCH 8 -12,
2002 — WASHINGTON D.C.
Attached is information regarding the annual National League of Cities' Congressional
Cities Conference, being held in Washington D.C. between March 8 -12, 2002. Council
and staff have attended this NLC program in the past. It provides the City with an
opportunity to meet with members of the California Congressional delegation to discuss
local priorities for national action. Conference issues include: Homeland security, the
economy, telecommunications, affordable housing, and water infrastructure.
RECOMMENDATION:
Authorize the attendance of any Council member, the City Attorney, City Manager and
staff as assigned by the City Manager.
