AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD
AMENDING THE ROSEMEAD MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING OFF-STREET
PARKING REQUIREMENTS FOR CHURCHES, TRADE AND PROFESSIONAL
SCHOOLS, AND CHILD-CARE CENTERS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 9122.7 of Part XXII; of Chapter 1, of the Rosemead
Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: '
9122.7 Auditoriums Assembly. For church, high school college--or
university auditoriums and---for, theatres, general auditoriums,
mortuaries, and other similar places of assembly, at least one (1) parking
space shall be provided for every four (4) seats•provided in auditoriums in
such building. A seat shall mean eighteen (18) lineal inches of seating
space when seats' are arranged in rows or pews. For auditoriums with no
permanent seat, 'a seat shall mean seven (7)-square feet of floor area.
Each--such--parking--space--shall--centain-at-least-two-hundred-(266)-sgnare
f eeL --with - -adequate --space -for -ingress -arid -egress;- -and _shall -be -on -the -sarne
lot--or-within-fine-handre4-(566)-feet-of-the-building-containing-such-place
of-assembly.-
Churches. One (1) space for ever three (3) persons based on total
occupancy permitted hy the Uniform Building Code.
Trade, businessprofessional or vocational schools, colleges, and
universities. One (1) space per employee on the largest shift plus
one for each two students the school is designed to accommodate.
Child-care center and nurseries. One (1) space for each ten (10)
children the facility is designed to accommodate plus one (1) space
for each employee and adequate room for vehicle drop off.
Section 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of
this ordinance and shall cause the same to be posted in the manner required by
law.
