RESOLUTION NO. 2002-13
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD AUTHORIZING
COMPENSATION FOR MEMBERS OF THE
PLANNING AND TRAFFIC COMMISSIONS .
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD DOES HEREBY RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby authorizes compensation for Planning
Commission members for their preparation for and attendance at Rosemead Planning
Commission meetings. Members shall be compensated at the rate of $200.00 per month.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby authorizes compensation for Traffic Commission
members for their preparation for and attendance at Rosemead Traffic Commission meetings.
Members shall be compensated at the rate of $100.00 per month.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be effective April 1, 2002.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 26th day of March, 2002.

conference.. The seminar will include sessions on: Land Use Planning;

Technology for Elected Officials and Economic Development for Elected
Officials.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council authorized the attendance of any
Councilmember, City Manager, City Attorney and staff designee.

TRUST - PART II (PRACTICAL ETHICS TO HELP STAY IN OFFICE)
This second part of the ethics trilogy will focus on some of the more subtle---- - -

and officials. Emphasis will be on the practicality of maintaining high ethical
standards. Attendees will analyze cases and consider how situations might have

This final session will offer practical ideas on dealing with the media, with
emphasis more on radio and TV. It will include consideration of what the media
needs; how to deal with "electronic" reporters; how to use radio and TV to get
your message out; and what NOT to do in dealing with the electronic media.

be available early May.
Reminder The Ralph M. Brown Act does not apply to conferences simply because a
majority of the city councilor other covered body attends. However, a majority of
the body may not discuss among themselves specific substantive issues at such
conferences. Any such discussion is subject to the Brown Act and must occur in
a meeting that complies with its requirements.
