Ordinance No. 692 - Collection of Curbside RecyclableORDINANCE NO. 692 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD PROHIBITING THE COLLECTION OF CURBSIDE RECYCLABLE MATERIALS BY UNAUTHORIZED PERSONS Section 1. New Sections 5415 and 5416 are hereby added to the Rosemead Municipal Code to read as follows: 5415. RECYCLABLE MATERIAL DEFINED Recyclable materials shall be defined as any one or more of the following categories of materials collected and recycled from within the City of Rosemead: (1) Newspaper; (2) aluminum, tin and other metal food and beverage containers; (3) Glass; and (4) High Density Polyethylene (H.D.P.E.), Poly-Ethylene Terephthalate (P.E.T.), Low Density Polyethylene (L.D.P.E.), and Polyvinyl Chloride (V.) plastic materials; and other materials as specified by the City Council. 5416. PROHIBITION OF COLLECTION AND TRANSPORTATION OF RECYCLABLE Is MATERIALS BY UNAUTHORIZED PERSONS No person, other than employees or authorized contract agents of the City of Rosemead, shall remove from any place or premises in the City, any recyclable material, as defined by Section 5415 of this Chapter, placed within the City's right-of-way or in the vicinity of any curb or refuse bin for collection. Violation of this provision shall be an infraction with a maximum fine of $250.00. Section 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance.
