r Request for vatiance fiom Sections 17.20 070 and 17 12.150 of the Rosemead
lb Municipal Code for additions to an existing accessory suucture encroaching into
the rear yard setback and exceeding the maxinuun of 600 square feet for an
accessory structure located at 2717 -2719 Willard Avenue, in the R -2; Light
Multiple Fancily Residential zone.
This item was denied by the Planning Commission at the February 5, 2001
meeting. The property owner Mr. Andre Gugliemi has appealed the decision to
deny the requested variance.
Recommendation: Applicant has requested this item be continued to the April
24, 2001 City Council Meeting.

This item was introduced for first reading at the regular meeting of Match 13,
2001.

TWO LOTS INTO THIRTEEN LOTS FOR SINGLE= FAMILY RESIDENTIAL
DEVELOPMENT LOCATED AT 8723 -8729 MISSION DRIVE
This Resolution confirms the Council's action on March 27, 2001 to disapprove
the Planned Development and Tract Map.
Recommendation: Approve Resolution 01 -12

A Faithful Pcrtormance Bond and a Labor and Material Bond was required to
guarantee construction of sewer house lateral. In lieu of bonds, a Certificate of
deposit was issued to the City of Rosemead in the amount of $3,240. The
improvements have been installed satisfactorily.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the City Council refund the
Certificate of Deposit including accrued interest.

This year's seminar will consist ol briefing sessions on the legislative agenda and
will provide an opportunity to meet with our Slate Legislators
Recommendation: Approve the attendance of any Councilmember, City
Manager, City Attorney and staff designee.

ENGINEERING SERVICES — OPPOSE
California voters approved Proposition 35 in November 2000. SB 924 world
amend Proposition 35. SB 1 102 alters the definition ol'Architectural and
Engineering Services in Government Code.
Recommendation: Oppose SB 924 and SB 1102
