� B. RESOLUTION NO. 01 -15 — SUPPORTING REASONABLE AND COST
EFFECTIVE WASTEWATER DISCHARGE STANDARDS FOR THE SAN
GABRIEL AND RIO HONDO RIVERS
The Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts have requested resolutions of
support for reasonable and cost effective wastewater discharge standards for the
San Gabriel and Rio Hondo rivers. The Districts believe that the proposed
discharge requirements of the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board
are unreasonable, inappropriate and overly costly.
Recommendation: Adopt Resolution No. 01 -15.

V. CONSENT CALENDAR -RECOMMENDATION: APPROVAL
CC- QUEST FOR RED CURB ON THE WEST SIDE OF SAN GABRIEL
OULEVARD IN FRONT OF DIAMOND SQUARE
,-Steven Zuckerman, Diamond Square, LLC, is requesting the installation of red
curb on the west side of San Gabriel Boulevard south of Garvey Avenue at the
south end of the Diamond Square Shopping Center in order to discourage
"contractors" from hiring day laborers. Based on field observations and a 3 -year
reported accident history, staff recommends the installation of red curb on the
west side of San Gabriel Boulevard from a point approximately 600 feet south of
Garvey to the southerly most driveway. At their meeting of May 3, 2001, the
Traffic Commission approved a staff recommendation supporting this request.
Recommendation: Approve installation of red curb.
� CC-B AUTHORIZATION TO REJECT CLAIMS AGAINST THE CITY FROM
MARIA CANCINO, DEVEN MALTEZ, FRANCINE MALTEZ, ISABEL
MALTEZ, AND MICHAEL PROA
The claimants state that they sustained injuries in a collision with another vehicle
at Lower Azusa and Encinita due to traffic signals not working. The City's
claims adjuster, Carl Warren & Company recommends rejection of all claims.
Recommendation: Authorize rejection of the aforementioned claims.
CC -C APPROVAL OF 4 OF JULY PARADE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE
CITY OF ROSEMEAD AND PARADE COMMITTEE
ttt Approval of yearly 4 ° i of July Agreement.
Recommendation: Approve the Agreement between the City and the Rosemead
4` of July Parade Committee.
CC -D APPROVAL OF JUNE 5, 2001 FOR BUDGET STUDY SESSION
At the regular meeting of the City Council on January 23, 2001, the 2001 -02
Budget Calendar was adopted. Included in the calendar's schedule was the
upcoming budget study session to be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at 5:00 p.m.
Recommendation: Approve the 2001 -02 budget study session.

ON RATE DESIGN APPLICATION 00 -11 -038 IN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $2,000
The California Public Utilities Commission held nine public hearings regarding a
rate design application submitted by Southern California Edison. The PUC is
charging $2.00 per page for the transcripts. Staff was informed that each hearing
generates from 80 -100 pages. Staff is requesting authorization to purchase the
transcripts of all hearings.
