/(1 A. PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING ZONE VARIANCE 01 -302 — APPEAL
✓ ✓, j Request for variance from Sections 17.20.070 and 17.12.150 of the Rosemead
l Municipal Code for additions to an existing accessory structure encroaching into
the rear yard setback and exceeding the maximum of 600 square feet for an
accessory structure located at 2717 -2719 Willard Avenue, in the R -2; Light
Multiple Family Residential zone.
This item was denied by the Planning Commission at the February 5, 2001
meeting. The property owner, Mr. Andre Gugliemi, has appealed the decision to
deny the requested variance.
Recommendation: Uphold the Planning Commission decision and deny Zone
Variance 01 -302 Appeal.

Recommendation: Adopt Resolution No. 01 -12, for payment of City expenditures.

g " CC -A AUTHORIZATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE -COI MEDIA BUY FOR THE
LOS ANGELES COUNTY STORM WATER PROGRAM
The 1996 NPDES Los Angeles County Municipal Stormwater Permit mandates
that comprehensive educational outreach activity is undertaken to educate
residents about stormwater pollution and potential solutions. Participation in the
County's 2001 Media Buy will satisfy the City's FY 2000 -01 responsibilities
pursuant to Activity I of the five -year Public Education Plan. The City's fiscal
share is $1,172.18.
Recommendation: Authorize City participation in the 2001 Media Buy for the
Los Angeles County Stormwater Program.
CC -B AUTHORIZATION TO REJECT CLAIM AGAINST THE CITY FROM DALE
HENDERSON

Claimant drove into a pothole at construction site. Claim has also been forwarded
to Miramar Construction, Inc., the City's contractor who is doing storm drain
improvements in that area.
Recommendation: Authorize rejection of claim.
CC -C AUTHORIZATION TO REJECT CLAIMS AGAINST THE CITY FROM
NGIHIA TANG, ALFRED LOERA, JOSH RAMIREZ, DENISE FAVELA, AND
SEAN CUELLAR
The claimants drove into potholes on San Gabriel Boulevard. These claims have
also been forwarded to Southern California Water Company who was doing street
excavations in that area.
Recommendation: Authorize rejection of the aforementioned claims.

qi� A. SB 10 (SOTO) — SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION PROGRAM:
�,D EXTENSION — SUPPORT
This bill extends the Safe Routes to School Construction Program that is due to
expire and be repealed on January 1, 2002.
/ Recommendation: Support SB 10 (Soto)
� B. SB 910 (DUNN) — HOUSING ELEMENTS: FINES, PENALTIES, AND
LAWSUITS — OPPOSE
This bill operates sanctions, including fines and pen (ties against local'
governments that fail to comply with state housing dement requirements as
interpreted by state staff.
Recommendation: Oppose SB 910 (Dunn)
,& GOVERNOR'S MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
On April 9 th , the Governor and SC Edison approved a Memorandum of
Understanding to restore SCE's solvency and continue providing electric services.
Recommendation: None
