PRESENTATIONS:
Presentation by the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments (SGVCOG) regarding
the creation of a West San Gabriel Valley Bus Zone.

AB 152 improves the Water Quality Authority's ability to fulfill its groundwater
clean -up mission.

- / CC -B AUTHORIZATION TO PLACE AD IN THE 28 ANNUAL WETIP
/ /, /� CONFERENCE PROGRAM
WeTip is requesting that the City place an ad in their Conference Program.
Recommendation: Authorize the placement of a one -half page ad in this year's
Program at the 28 Annual WeTip Conference.
CC -C REQUEST FROM ROSEMEAD HIGH SCHOOL FOR $3,000 TO FUND THE
THIRTEENTH ANNUAL RUN/WALK AGAINST DRUGS, ALCOHOL AND
TOBACCO
In the past the City has granted Rosemead High School's request for funding.
The $3,000 will go towards the cost of T -shirts and awards.
Recommendation: Authorize the expenditure of $3,000 for the Annual
/ Run/Walk Against Drugs, Alcohol and Tobacco.
LG 14� CC -D AUTHORIZATION TO ATTEND 42 ANNUAL CALIFORNIA CONTRACT
CITIES SEMINAR, MAY 17 -20, 2001, PALM SPRINGS
This year's topics include: Economic Trends, Fiscal Relief and Reform, Energy
Regulations, Office of Independent Review, and a report from District Attorney,
Steve Cooley.
Recommendation: Authorize the attendance of any Councilmember, City
Attorney, City Manager and staff as designated by the City Manager.
AUTHORIZATION TO ATTEND NATIONAL LEAGUE OF CITIES
LEADERSHIP TRAINING INSTITUTE, AUGUST 16-18,2001,
BROOMFIELD, COLORADO
This year's theme is "Investing in Communities ". The summit assists elected
officials in developing policies and programs that will contribute to better lives in
their respective communities.

AL AND REPLACEMENT OF STREET TREES ON MARYBETH
On January 23, 2000, the City Council directed staff to poll each property owner
affected by the removal and replacement of the Sycamore Trees on Marybeth
Avenue between Marshall and Olney Streets, to determine their wishes for the
disposition of the tree in front of their property. Council will now consider
authorizing staff to prepare plans and specifications for the removal and
replacement of the trees for those property owners who request it.
Recommendation: Approve the removal and replacement of Sycamore Trees
with Brisbane Box Trees for those property owners that request it and direct staff
to begin preparing plans and specifications for this work.

UTILITIES ASSOCIATION, MARCH 27-30,2001, SAN DIEGO
Since California is in the middle of an energy crisis brought about by
deregulation, attendance at this conference may be beneficial.
Recommendation: Authorize the attendance of any Councilmember and City
Manager.
