TRIPEPI, CITY MANAGER DATE: OCTOBER 9, 2001 RE: PURCHASE OF PATRIOTIC BANNERS FOR VALLEY BOULEVARD AND GARVEY AVENUE STREETLIGHT POLES In a sign of support for our nation and government, staff is proposing that the City Council authorize the purchase of two hundred and thirty -five (235) light pole banners. The proposed banners would measure 3 feet wide by 8 feet tall and would incorporate a waving American flag, as well as the script: Rosemead Believes in America. Attached for the Council's review is the quote and mock -up from AAA Flag and Banner Manufacturing Company. The proposed banner will be a double -faced two -color vinyl pole panel banner that is priced at $57.50 per banner. This price incorporates manufacture, installation, and removal charges. The estimated total cost is $14,593.50, including sales tax. RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council authorize the purchase of two hundred and thirty -five (235) streetlight pole banners from AAA Flag and Banner Manufacturing Company and appropriate the necessary funds from appropriated reserves. Ken Rukavina, City Engineer, responded that when the final map is recorded by the County Recorder's office, the dedication is then reflected on the.
